The Battle of Malta 2018 is still a few months away but seats are already being filled at a blistering pace.
Not only are package sales booming, live satellite winners have begun to secure their heavily discounted seats in the low buy-in event of the year.
At least 6 happy satellite winners secured their spot in the €1m Battle of Malta Main Event at the recent European Poker Series (EPS) stop at Casino Cirsa Valencia in Spain and will head to Malta in October to reap their rewards.
Win a Seat Live Across Europe!
With the successful sale of the Battle of Malta brand to the Eden Leisure Group last year, hopeful BoM attendees can now win their seat across several casinos in the Baltics, the Iberian Peninsula, Italy and beyond.
Most live Battle of Malta satellites that offer a seat into the event commonly follow the same structure:
One-evening tournament €55 buy-in 1 in 10 chance to win a Main Event seatCasinos that give away complete packages including hotel and travel costs change the conditions correspondingly.
Live Qualifiers in Madrid, Bulgaria
Players from the Iberian Peninsula were comparatively scarce at the BOM last year but that’s going to change.
On top of the Valencia qualifiers the EPS is giving away at least 4 more BOM tickets at their next big event at the Casino Madrid in July (18-29).
One ticket will be given to the overall chipleader after each Day 1 and another 3 tickets will go to the otherwise unhappiest players of a tournament – the bubble boy and the two players busting before him.
Another event to watch if you want to qualify live for the BOM is the MPNPT at the Sunny Beach Casino on the banks of the Black Sea in Bulgaria.
It takes place July 5-8 and features a €550 main event just like the BOM.
Both the EPS and the MPNPT will have their own side events at the BOM 2018 so make sure to check the 2018 Battle of Malta schedule for details.

Unlimited Re-Entries, More Play
For the first time in its history the Battle of Malta Main Event will guarantee €1,000,000 paid out to the players lucky enough to make the money.
The top few players will all walk away with six-figure payouts - a phenomenal return for a €550 buy-in.
To further your chances of getting to that end game, for the first time the BOM main event will also allow unlimited re-entries during Day 1 play.
Players will also now be allowed to forfeit their chips at the end of Day 1 try again with a fresh, full stack the next day as long as late registration is open.
The original 25/50 blind level has also been cut from the new tournament structure. The first level is now 100/100. This will give everybody a bit more play as there are only very few players that bust in these early levels.
Removing the very low levels at the beginning of the tournament also gives the players a little more room and play towards the end of Day 1.
This day will end, by the way, when the field is down to 15% -- meaning we’ll end the day close to the bubble.
Check out the full structure of the main and side events here.
Big Blind Ante
Also for the first time the BOM will be played with a big blind ante instead of the running ante that used to be the norm in tournaments.
The big blind ante has become rather popular in live tournaments lately and the Battle of Malta has always been a progressive tournament.
